Unlike most people familiar with Tyler1 or loltyler1 from competitive events or the League of Legends community, I was introduced to Tyler1 from League of legends toxic player funny compilations.
If you're an LoL player, you would understand that League can be a very toxic place, so Tyler's rage is justified, and when you look through all those "funny" rage moments, you can find that he is a down-to-earth passionate guy.
He is a competitor and one of the most popular League of Legends players with a fiery, energetic personality.
So I decided to dig deep and find out how good Tyler1's setup is. After all, League can be run on the oldest of laptops, but what would a famous streamer use to stream his LoL games?
So here it is, Tyler1's setup!
Let's dive in!
Tyler1's setup is excellent as a mid-level gaming system for newcomers, looking to have decent performance on any game, even the heavy-resource ones.
However, as a streaming pre-build, it is an expensive, unoptimized rig with no capture card or streaming software and limited streaming upgrades — all with an underwhelming customer support experience.
Although it could be better, Tyler1's main game of choice is League of Legends, which you can run on inexpensive PC builds or laptops.
So the use for a high-performance rig for gaming and streaming like what FPS players like shroud or Dr. Disrespect would need isn't needed by Tyler1.
Tyler1 had used the Logitech B100 since he started.
He had since switched to the G Pro Wireless after his B100 had failed him mid-game.
The G Pro and B100 are miles apart in features and, importantly, endurance.
The Logitech G Pro Wireless is lightweight and has a comfortable grip that's easy to maneuver.
The stiff chassis design and ergonomics can accommodate various hand positions and squeeze pressures.
Even a strong guy like Tyler can hold the mouse tightly without worry.
The G Pro is made ambidextrous due to the removable side buttons and button covers.
Tyler1 has his custom mouse mat, aptly named the Reformed XL.
The Reformed XL is wide at 11x36in; it will fit most full-size keyboards even with macro keys and has enough room for wide strokes needed in FPS games.
The Reformed XL is a soft fabric mouse mat that glides nicely and feels similar to a Steelseries mouse mat.
The stitched edges make cleaning easy and do not loosen the material.
The only issue is that the ’Reformed’ branding is known to fade fast.
The pad is still essential and practical memorabilia for fans.
Tyler1's keyboard also saw an upgrade to the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate. The keyboard is another significant upgrade from his business class range of peripherals.
The Blackwidow mechanical keyboard is perfect for MOBA/MMORPGs that require multiple key bindings for skills and abilities.
The key switches come in clicky and silent formats.
It comes with ten programmable keys and five macro keys.
The keyboard also comes with RGB vanity through RAZER’s in-house software.
The Blackwidow is made even sweeter with additional ports like audio-in, mic-out, and USB passthrough to connect peripherals directly to the keyboard.
Tyler1 is currently using the full HD XL2430T as his monitor.
The display is part of BenQ's competitive eSports gaming range, which you can see displayed on the teams’ setups.
You would use the monitor for its high 144Hz refresh rate in FPS/RTS/MOBA games.
The refresh rate and a quick 1ms response time make the gameplay smooth and responsive, which you want in a gaming monitor.
The XL2430T comes bundled with a Fnatic QCK mouse and Asphalt edition mouse mat, making the monitor a perfect choice to upgrade over a standard 60Hz display.
BenQ XL2430T 24" Gaming MonitorLike Tyler1’s signature personality, the Logitech G430 is his signature headset of choice and stream audio.
He continues to use the G430 headset and its microphone in his streams.
While most gaming headsets are also well built for music and provide stellar mids and high.
The G430 uses Dolby Atmos and DTS 7.1 surround sound technology in games purely to register game sound effects and pinpoint player movement.
While the headset comes with a sound card, I recommend connecting the cans directly to your PC to avoid double voices.
The G430 is a stellar glass cannon gaming headset, especially near the headband extensions.
Logitech has discontinued the G430.
Tyler's PC is powered by Intel's 14nm 10th gen i9 chip.
With 10 cores/20 threads, it has a max frequency of 5.30 GHz to handle even the most intensive workloads and games.
While it’s not quite as fast as AMD’s nimble 7nm Ryzen 9 architecture in terms of affordability and multi-threaded performance metrics, Intel’s single-core performance is still the perfect choice for intensive gaming and better driver support.
If you care for high frames and refresh rates in your games over higher-than 1080p resolutions, then Intel’s 10th gen i9 is the perfect pick for you.
Tyler1 uses the NZXT X62, a quiet yet powerful CPU cooler to keep your CPU in check while adding RGB lighting aesthetics.
You will make the interior of your PC stand out, while your PC runs quietly while keeping your CPU at a low temp to prevent performance issues.
Tyler1 motherboard is the ASUS ASUS ROG Maximus XII Hero Z490 with WI-FI/Bluetooth built-in.
The board is feature-packed with room for three M.2 drives and 4800Mhz+ DDR4 memory support.
The motherboard also comes with an error code indicator and a dedicated start/stop button for testing, overclocking, and fast troubleshooting, making it the perfect mobo for Tyler1 to squeeze more value out of his system instead of upgrading hardware every other year.
Tyler1's PC has an RTX 3080 OC edition, aptly named Eagle for its enormous size.
The 10 GB card is massive yet perfect for Tyler1's editing live streaming and lets his game effortlessly.
The card provides high environment quality effects quality for real-time ray-casting.
Games take advantage of the GDDR6X architecture for quality global Illumination and high shadows.
Tyler1's memory is the Trident Z Royal 3200Mz RGB.
He loves the diamond-like texture on its RGB display plate. The RAM sticks take care of all his multitasking loads.
While the memory itself is not an overkill piece of kit, the aesthetics are worth the price of admission.
With eight different RGB patterns to pick from, the Trident Z offers blazing speeds up to 4600MHz and beyond.
The Trident Z Royal is the ultimate high-performance RGB memory that you can comfortably overclock without issues and one that can handle hitting higher clockwork when gaming.
The RAM further bolsters this by providing XMP 2.0 support and frequency profiles.
Tyler1’s system uses a WD Black SN850 NVMe M.2 SSD 1TB paired with his HDD for fast OS boots and load times for titles that would take advantage of the SSD's blazing-fast data read-write speeds.
An SSD is especially great for large file transfers, which Tyler1 needs a steady stream recording and editing experience with interludes.
Tyler1 also has a Seagate Barracuda 4TB HDD for storage.
Nothing too out of the ordinary here; it's simple storage for stream capture to save 10-15 hour-long streams and make highlights and YouTube videos montages.
Tyler1's system is powered not just by himself but also by a fully modular C850 by NZXT, which allows for fully customizable cable management. The cables resist heat damage and fraying and fit any case as per the ATX standard.
Under low loads, the 120mm Fan mode runs silently.
It comes with the NZXT 10-year warranty.
Tyler1's case is similar to other popular streamers aesthetics-wise, and it comes in the form of NZXT's H510 Elite.
We prominently see this case in his setup stream about his free PC from NZXT.
The case offers superior airflow but lacks enough I/O ports.
The dual split inside the case keeps hardware and cable separate for airflow.
It's everything you would want in a reasonably and competitively priced computer case- good thermals, noise dampening, enough room to fit a behemoth of a GPU, and excellent cable management.
All of this in a beautiful, practical design...
Oh, it’s under 200 dollars. What a steal!
Tyler1 uses a Logitech C922 webcam, just like NICKMERCS.
A simple clip-on plug-and-play style webcam that records and streams in 720p at 60fps and 1080p at 30fps with reliable color vibrance.
The cam has a convenient effect that lets users use images as background without a green screen.
It also comes with a tripod and a free three-month subscription to the streaming/recording software, Xsplit.
Tyler1 has an Elgato stream deck for fast maneuvering between applications during a live stream.
The deck is reliable and used by most popular streamers like PewDiePie and Summit1g.
It has 15 programmable side buttons to switch between applications with speed.
It is compatible with windows and similar mainstream operating systems on the market.
You often see Tyler1 using his Herman Miller Aeron.
The chair was designed from the research of an ophthalmic neurobiologist.
It is known for its pressure distribution, body positioning, and natural alignment for long work hours.
Its four directional adjustable armrests and integrated backlit adjustment technology naturally align the backrest for any spine.
It can easily accommodate a wide range of anatomies.
As Tyler is streaming for 10 hours every day, it is an essential piece of furniture to keep his posture in check and prevent injury.
Tyler1 mains and solos Draven, religiously, regardless of win/lose rates.
He uses a Logitech g430 gaming headset. It is his signature headset.
Tyler1 streams for the South Korean T1 competitive eSports team.
Tyler1 is 5 ft 6" tall.
He streams Monday - Friday at 3 - 5 pm Irish Standard Central Time.
According to what we’ve researched, his PC build is worth $3000, while his entire setup is worth ~$3900.
Well, that is all about the Tyler1 PC and streaming set up in all its detail!
His PC build and gear follow the "Old not obsolete" philosophy compared to many other streamers and players.
He prioritizes providing a friendly experience to everyone who might fancy his content without losing individuality.
He proves that even if a game runs on potato systems, the best in the world don't need the latest bell and whistles.
Tyler1’s setup is more purpose-built for LoL than other streamers and gamers.
Instead of being a variety setup like TimTheTatman or NICKMERCS and involved in other games.
He keeps it focused.
While Tyler isn’t the Jack of all games, he is the master of Legends.
There you have it, a purpose-built setup of a competitive gamer and reformed streamer.
